La problematica della regressione formale del pensiero e dell'"allucinatorio", César Botella, Sàra Botella

The authors describe a negative side of a traumatic event whose main characteristic is its unrepresentability; a negative that the authors call "non-rapresentation" as opposed to the positive side of the trauma which is a representationak order. The analyst cannot have access to it unless he carries out a formal regression of his ought thought: a 'happening' that normally occurs during the condition of floating attention. The analysis of a 5 years old girl allows the analysts to demonstrate, during the session itself, the strong link, but also the indipendence, of the dynamics of the negative side of the trauma as compared with the representational dynamics of neurosis of transfert and its matrix -infantile neurosis- that have not been able to establish those links that would lead to meaning. This work gives the authors the opportunity to discuss a type of problem that is complementary to that of the representational systems: the 'halucinatory'. This is a process and not a delimited entity such as representation, and it allows for the overcoming of the deficiencies of a psychoanalytic metapsy chology based solely on a theory of representations (as in the case of Freudian thinking of the first topic), it provides the basis for the development of a metapsychology of the unrepresentable. This is followed by a questioning of certain Freudian notions such as that of "reality testing", a definition that the authors consider as being too psychology-oriented on the part of Freud. However, with Freud still as a point of departure, the authors' contradictory formula -the object is "only inside-also outside"- attempts to reflect the mainly animistic nature of the foundations of psychism and its translation at the level of reality testing, while at the same time demonstrating the complex functioning of the latter in those aspects presumably objective of an outside-inside that proceeds from the sense organs.
