Psychoanalytic Heuristics, Jorge Canestri

This paper is based on two contributions by Joseph Sandler proposing some theoretical formulations aimed at connecting Freud's topographic and structural concepts about the organisation of the psychic apparatus. The author explores the heuristic value of the analyst's preconscious theories at work, presenting a historical-developmental model aimed at explaining the issue of theoretical pluralism in psychoanalysis.
